The Power of the Unconscious Mind

We live in a toxic world, unfortunately. Since World War II, hundreds of thousands of manmade chemicals have been introduced into our environment. Some of these get into our body through our water, our airways, our food, et cetera.

Melissa shared with us that these toxins overburden our bodies and she shares how she addresses the problem in the physical body and it is through proper functional medicine and detoxes.

How Suboptimal Health Affects Productivity

Having an unhealthy, toxin-filled body has a lot of disadvantages. These disadvantages contribute to the building up of a big hindrance to your productivity and quality of life in general. When you are unhealthy, you become unable to focus effectively. You’ll suffer from brain fog, unable to achieve mental clarity. You suffer from restlessness and sleeplessness and therefore a lack of energy when it’s needed during the day.

Melissa says that “Health is your true wealth”, it should be your number one investment. The problems with unhealthiness and toxins don’t stop at the physical level, they will also eventually affect us on an emotional level and eventually on a spiritual level.

We’ve all heard of limiting beliefs and how they tend to falsely define what level of success we are capable of. Those beliefs are a kind of toxicity in their own way.

The goal is to be healthy in all areas and to not lack in supporting yourself in any of them: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. That’s why Melissa works on detoxing all four of those “bodies” in order to get lasting healing.

“Don't wait to get sick take proactive action. However, for those that are already in it. I want you to know that your chronic illness doesn't have to be the way it is for the rest of your life. You can recover from it, but we have to address it in all four bodies and remove the toxins.”

The Power Of The Unconscious

The unconscious holds a lot of power in our lives and if we don’t allow thoughts to resurface from it, if we deny it from being ever fully conscious, we will lose out on growth and true health.

Melissa said that our unconscious mind is like a file cabinet in our head that holds every single experience we’ve ever had in our life. It stores everything without judgment for access later on.

It’s difficult to confront unconscious thoughts at times since when the unconscious mind decides that it is time for these thoughts to be brought forward, we are often in a place or time where we’re not yet comfortable addressing it or dealing with it. Often we ignore it, push it away, and stuff it down. That’s when it festers and becomes toxic in the body.

When we let these thoughts remain unconscious, they have the power to control our actions and decisions while in the background, limiting our success.

Most of your health outcomes is made up of the environment that you create inside your physical body and mental body. When you become able to master your thoughts, emotions, and the toxins that the world is inundated with right now, then you can create a body that’s inhospitable to disease.

The Toxicity Of Stress

Stress has a huge negative impact on our health but we tend to underestimate it. That’s because we look around and see that everyone around us is also stressed, therefore the state of being stressed becomes normalized when it shouldn’t be.

Melissa explains that stress breaks down the balance in the health of our gut, it’s killing off good bacteria and letting bad ones take over. That leads to it negatively impacting our sleep so that our brain and body are not detoxing well overnight or rejuvenating as they should. So then we wake up with lower energy and less resilience because of that lack of sleep.

Our gut, Melissa said, is instrumental in our overall health. When we’re damaging our gut with stress, it also triggers other illnesses and many chronic illnesses.

If we want to heal from those chronic illnesses, we have to address the state of the gut and we have to address the stress. Don’t underestimate stress, it affects the overall balance of your health.

Think about your life before death, what would you rather be doing in your last 10 years? Would you rather be healthy and fit enough to play with your grandsons and strong enough to go on vacations abroad with your spouse? Or would you rather be spending your last years in a nursing home?
